Nasarawa FC ends Kano Pillars 12 years home unbeaten run


Nasarawa United on Sunday rewrote the history books when they defeated home team Kano Pillars 2-1 to end a 12-year unbeaten home run by Pillars in the league.

The last time Pillars last at home, was in June 21, 2003, they lost 2-1 to Julius Berger at home in the league.

Ex-Pillars forward Munir Ubale, scored an early goal for the visitors in the 12th minute off Eugene Salami's assist to stun the home fans.

Four minutes later, Eagles new invitee Yaro Bature made it 2-0 for the Lafia based team.
Pillars fought back and their Skipper Rabiu Ali scored in the 46th minute to make it 2-1.

Nasarawa United started well with Ifeanyi Nweke forced goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai to make a big save in the seventh minute.

In the 27th minute, Esosa Igbinoba was denied a goal by the goal post.
Rabiu Ali had a few chances, one of which was in the 33rd minutes but Nasarawa goalkeeper denied him goal with a brilliant save.

Pillars striker Gambo Mohammed, who was sidelined by gunshot wounds since March, returned to action when he replaced Eneji Otekpa in the 67th minute.
