Victor Moses withdraws from Eagles friendly Game

Westham's United loanee Victor Moses

West Ham United star Victor Moses has pulled out of Nigeria’s friendlies against the DR Congo and Cameroon, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed.

The Super Eagles play the Leopards of DRC in Vise, Liege on Thursday, October 8 and will then confront Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in Dendermonde on Sunday, October 11.

The Chelsea lonanee, sent a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation through the Super Eagles’ Administrator, Enebi Achor, and said he was pulling out in a precautionary move against injury.

Last week, ace defender Kenneth Omeruo was ruled out for the friendlies which will prepare the Super Eagles for World Cup qualifications.

Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, while regretting this setback, promised that the team have enough good quality options to serve as replacement.

"We have no choice now but to work with the other players who are available,"Oliseh said.

"The fact that the other batch of players from home were not issued their visas last week is also setting us back because we would really want to take advantage of the time to put in a lot of work."

By a stroke of luck, reports from Turkish club Kasimpasa suggest Kenneth Omeruo will only be out for just two weeks, which leaves open the opportunity for him to feature for the Super Eagles.

Omeruo is therefore expected to be back in the Super Eagles group in November for Nigeria's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against the winner of the Djibouti/Swaziland first round fixture.
