STUDENTS SLAM EKITI EDUCATIONAL SUMMIT AS A RUSH

The leadership of higher institutions across Ekiti state has condemned the just-concluded education summit held in the state, describing it as a sham, jankara and amala summit.

They accused Governor Fayose of demonstrating negative perception to about 70% of the students in Ekiti to purge the educational sector of the psycho-social beast in their constituency.

In a swift reaction, the state government has advised the leadership of the Federation of the Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU) to embrace peace.

The government warned the students and accused them of blackmailing the government because they could not get money from the government.

The students, however, declared that they passed a vote of no confidence and hope in securing Ekiti students’ future.

According to the statement: “It is with deep sense of patriotic devolution that that we stand on the threshold of history as young patriots in the vanguard for the rescue of our dear Ekiti state, as the governor through the deputy governor and commissioner for education; Dr. Kolapo Olushola Eleka and Honourable Jide Egunjobi respectively, are directed to organize a non inclusive education summit.”

The governor advised the students to stop their antics, warning that “with him, such antics won’t fly!”
