FIFA U-17: EAGLET SPELLS CHILE IN A GOAL STUDDED THRILLING ENCOUNTER

Eaglets on celebrations mood


Nigeria followed up its 2 – 0 win win over USA with a 5 – 1 trouncing of Chile at the ongoing FIFA U-17 world cup. Oshiemen and Nwakali were the men who ran the show for Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets continue the defense of the U-17 crown with a Group A clash against World Cup host nation Chile.


The Eaglets defeated  the USA in their first match and will hope to take that form into the match against Chile. The Nigerians are the defending champions are chasing a record fifth triumph at the age-grade competition.



Star striker Victor Oshiemen has been declared fit for the game after picking up a knock in the game against USA.


FT: The referee blows the whistle and puts Chile out of her misery. Nigeria followed up its 2 – 0 win win over USA with a 5 – 1 trouncing of Chile.

Chukwueze and Oshiemen score doubles while Kelechi Nwakali scored a fifth from the spot and missed another at the death.

16′ Chukwueze is brought down by Soriano in the box

13′ Leiva connects with Gonzalez cross but his header is just over

12′ Soto finds himself one on one with Udoh but the center back does not have the mobility to test Udoh

11′ The Eaglets try an attacking move on the Edge of the box but Salas is able to block Oshimen’s cross
