STAR BOY AND SAMKLEF’S SWEET MELEE

The Star Boy act, Wizkid and producer Samklef used to be an item on the music scene. Their working relationship was cordial to the extent that aside from making music together, the artists hung out at clubs together.

However, all that soon came to an abrupt end, with both parties keeping sealed lips on the reasons for the face-off.

squealed to Naij.com that the Tease Me crooners’ relationship began to fall apart when an in-house rivalry between Wizkid and former label mate, Skales started.

It was Skales that introduced Samklef to Wizkid, and that was when he produced ‘Tease Me’ for him, and they were working on other stuff. But when the ego crisis between Skales and Wizkid started then, the latter had to sacrifice Samklef because he needed to prove to Skales that he can survive without the producer that he introduced to him.

“Shortly after, Wizkid began to give Samklef some unfamiliar attitudes. He said his beats were no longer good enough and that he was riffraff before he (Wizkid) turned his life around with the success of ‘Tease Me’. What happened actually was a transferred aggression, not that Samklef really offended Wizkid,” our source said.

NigerianEchoes gathered that the recent social media outbursts between former the Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) artists, Wizkid and Skales, is a crisis they had been managing even when they were still under the Banky W owned recording company.

Samklef’s career as a music producer was noticed when he produced Durela’s ‘My Life’, but his major breakthrough came after he produced Wizkid’s ‘Tease Me’, which was followed by his own ‘Molowo Noni’ and other subsequent hits.
