Buhari will bring the much expected change says IBB

BARELY two weeks to his 100 days in office, President
Muhammadu Buhari yesterday received a morale boosting
vote of confidence from former military President, General
Ibrahim Babangida in Minna, who assured that Buhari would
meet the expectations of Nigerians.
General Babangida, who spoke in Minna at his hilltop
residence on Sunday at the occasion of his 74th birthday
celebration, pointed out that what the president
administration needs from Nigerians is absolute support,
indicating that such support should be overwhelming like the
way they (Nigerians) voted for the present administration.
“So far I am confident that the present government is doing
well. It has identified the problems and they look resolute in
confronting these problems head-on and a lot of people in
the society are offering a lot of sound advice on what to do,
so I believe they will succeed.”
General Babangida particularly commended the
administration for realising the real challenges facing
Nigeria as a country, which he said include security of lives
and property, the issue of corruption and of course the
economy, stressing that “They were all identified and I think
we should support him towards achieving this objectives.”
According to him, “I must commend the present leadership
for identifying even before and after the election some of
the problems facing this country. Number one, it has to do
with security and the president talked about it extensively.
The security of lives and property, the security of this
environment called Nigeria has been identified.
“And the second one of course has to do with the way we
live, the way we walk and the way we behave; corruption,
and I think the third one has to do with the economic
development of the country.”
