Mo Farah rewrites history with his new world record

Mo Farah has run himself in the history books with his 10,000 victory at the ongoing world championships in Beijing.
A sixth successive victory in the 5,000 or 10,000m at a world championships or Olympics stretching back to 2011 for Farah, takes him ahead of long distance legends like Kenenisa Bekele and Haile Gebrselassie.
“It’s nice to be known as someone who has won the most medals for my country,” Farah said.
“It’s great to make history.”
Farah won the 10,000 in a time of 27min 01.13sec ahead of Kenyans Geoffrey Kamworor (27:01.76) and Paul Tanui (27.02.83) to claim the gold.

The Londoner has been in the news for the wrong reasons of late with his American coach Alberto Salazar accused of violating several anti-doping rules and this win should help shift the focus away from that.
Farah himself not been accused of any wrong doing but has insisted that he would stand by his coach until anything is proven. Alberto Salazar has denied al the allegations brought against him.
Farah will have a chance to make it seven global titles in the 5,000m, scheduled for next Saturday. Should he complete a Beijing double, he would become the first man to complete a 5,000 and 10,000m double at consecutive world championships.
