Sergio Ramos has expressed his disappointment with Real Madrid's 0-0 draw with Sporting Gijon on Sunday, insisting that anything other than a win is not good enough by his side's standards.

The Blancos had a total of 27 shots in Rafael Benitez's first league game in charge but failed to break through to secure maximum points against the newly promoted hosts.

Ramos, who just recently signed a new contract with Real Madrid amid speculations of Manchester United move, was not happy with taking just a single point from the clash, insisting Los Blancos should have made the difference in the second half.

"It's not a matter of taking many conclusions yet. It is clear that the first half was not good enough, but in the second half we showed more initiative," he told Canal+.

"We wish we won three points. Everything that is not a win is not good."
Coach Benitez supported his captain's belief that Madrid should have won the game, but admits his side have low morale.

"In the second half we could have won the game," he told reporters. "We were lacking confidence.

"We had many shots on goal, but we were not accurate enough.

"Sporting played very well, they were very tidy. They are players who have played together for a long time. It was not easy.

"Last year the team didn't win at the start of the season. We have just started, I'm optimistic. Now we will continue to adjust things and get physically better."
