Andy Murray beats Novak Djokovic in final
Both men met in the final of the Rogers cup and Murray emerged victorious.
The Scot had not won against Djokovic since beating him the 2013 final of the Wimbledon but rose up to the occasion with a 6-4 4-6 6-3 win in a draining final.
Djokovic, who has won only four time this year, was the favorite to pick up the win but Murray rallied well playing some brilliant tennis on the way to victory.
Murray and Djokovic embraced at the net after a three-hour battle of attrition that left them exhausted as courtside temperatures reached 40C.
“Everybody wants me and Novak to dislike each other and people always try to stir things up between us,” Murray said
