Watch out #projectLETGOafrica
EA Sports are continuing their countdown from 50 in the FIFA 16 Player Ratings and today they are covering 40-31 with two Manchester United stars in this list.
FIFA 16 is due for release on September 25 in the UK and the demo will be out two weeks before that on September 8. With not long before the demo is out it is no surprise that EA are looking to highlight the best 50 players in the game with these FIFA 16 player ratings.
40: Gerard Pique (Barcelona) – 85
At the start of last season Gerard Pique was coming in for a lot of criticism from pundits saying that his level had dropped way below what fans were used to recently. To his credit the defender raised his game and he deserves his rise to 85 in the FIFA 16 player ratings. Pique is one of the more popular centre-back on FIFA and that looks set to remain the case.
39: Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund) – 86
Hummels maintains his rating of 86 which makes him one of the best centre-backs in the game and given the way Borussia Dortmund have started the season it’s easy to imagine that he will continue at this rating for the forseeable future. Everyone loves to use Dortmund on FIFA and Hummels staying the same will help maintain their popularity.
38: Bastian Schweinsteiger (Manchester United) -86
In last year’s game Schweinsteiger was one of the most overrated midfielders and it is no surprise that he has been taken down a couple of points to 86. He’s still a good player but he needed this drop down and EA have acted accordingly. United have so many players it’s going to be interesting to see how fans use them on FIFA this year.
37: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) – 86
Like his team-mate Hummels Reus doesn’t see his rating change in the FIFA 16 Player Ratings and that’s probably fair. It’ll be interesting to see how his rating changes in the January update because as we mentioned earlier Dortmund have started the season well under Thomas Tuchel.
36: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – 86
Most players will be pretty surprised to see that United captain Rooney stays at 86 particularly given how poorly he has started the season. He may have scored a hat-trick against Club Brugge but in the Premier League he has looked really poor. His touch is off and if he keeps this up there’s little chance of him staying at this rating.
35: Arturo Vidal (Bayern Munich) – 86
Vidal has been very impressive since he moved to Bayern and he seems a very shrewd acquisition to replace Schweinsteiger. His performances helping Juventus to win the double and reach the final of the Champions League have seen him taken up to 86. It looks as if Bayern will be one of the best teams to use in the game.
34: Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich) – 86
Muller has stayed put this summer and he has started the season in fine form. It is perhaps a bit of a surprise that his rating has stayed the same but what is interesting is that his position has changed from RM to CF. This shows EA recognising his striking tendencies and making him a natural up front will make a lot of people happy.
33: Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) – 86
Benzema is another who has had a pretty turbulent summer in terms of transfer links but like Muller he isn’t going anywhere. Despite Real struggling last season Benzema stil managed 20 goals and he sees his rating get bumped up to 86. The challenge for him is to surpass that in real life and then get his rating up in FIFA.
32: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea) – 86
It takes something pretty special to displace Petr Cech and that is exactly what Courtois managed last season despite being just 22. The Belgian stays at 86 and remains one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. His growth in FIFA 16 will remain high and it will be interesting to see when he eventually moves up to 87 or higher.
31: Paul Pogba (Juventus) – 86
It is worth pointing out that Paul Pogba is still just 22 years of age and he is already 86 on FIFA 16. He is only going to get better and better and he is a very special talent. It seems as if he will be Juventus’ for one more season but it’s going to be tough to keep him next summer. Given how good he has been recently it is no surprise that he has been bumped up in he FIFA 16 player ratings.
