ROMAN ABRAMOVICH WILL NOT SACK JOSE MOURINHO

The embattered  Chelsea gaffer

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho survived a ‘crisis meeting’ with the club’s board last night who have opted to keep the Portuguese boss in charge despite the poor from this season.

After slipping to the sixth defeat of the season on Sunday, the former Real Madrid boss was fearing for his job. Even after the game, Mourinho challenged club owner Roman Abramovich to give him the sack.

However, the manager who won the Champions League with Italian side Inter Milan during his career has been given a backing by the board and has been given a stay of execution.

When he ended his first spell as Chelsea manager in 2007, Abramovich had to pay Mourinho £18m following plenty of disagreements.

The current run of performances and results is most definitely the worst during the manager’s career and that’s something the hierarchy acknowledge. In a press conference on Friday afternoon, the manager himself admitted that this is the worst he has seen from himself.

To his name, Mourinho has three Premier League winners medals, an FA Cup and three League Cups.

Following the international break, Mourinho will take his side to Villa Park to come up against Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa on October 17th.
